LAND: Conservation, Green Space, & Historic Easement
“It really boils down to this: That all life is interrelated. We are caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. We are made to live together because of the interrelated structure of Reality.” - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Drexel-Morrell Center is preserving the land and the stories based in Powhatan in order to create a place reserved for quiet personal and communal reflection. A natural and historic conservation easement is being placed on this place in perpetuity!
We see a place where people of all ages can
-
Walk the trails and enjoy and learn from the natural beauty of the land;
-
Observe, research, learn from and experience the interrelatedness and resiliency among all life systems;
-
Spend time for self-renewal, meditation, prayer and quiet reflection
