The Drexel-Morrell Center is preserving the land and the stories based in Powhatan in order to create a place reserved for quiet personal and communal reflection. A natural and historic conservation easement is being placed on this place in perpetuity!

We see a place where people of all ages can

Walk the trails and enjoy and learn from the natural beauty of the land;
Observe, research, learn from and experience the interrelatedness and resiliency among all life systems;
Spend time for self-renewal, meditation, prayer and quiet reflection

Partnerships and Collaboration

with other organizations with similar goals will be strategically planned and developed. The Drexel-Morrell Center will encourage national and local organizations with similar mission and values to enjoy the site as a gathering and learning place.

Wellness and Recreation

Environmentally friendly activities are welcome; Sharing the arts through story and performance will be encouraged; public access to walking trails, environmental programs for education and enjoyment; forestry: nurturing and planting trees that honor and memorialize Earth stories.
